George Anthony “Lomp” Lombardo

0005888011-01-1.jpg George Anthony “Lomp” Lombardo, age 78 of Uniontown, Pa., passed away peacefully on Friday morning June 18, 2010 with his loving family at his side in the Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born August 2, 1931 in Uniontown, Pa. son of the late Salvatore Lombardo and Cathryn Zack Lombardo.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two sisters: Albina Lombardo and Phyllis Lombardo Kovalchick, and sister-in-law, Dorie Mullins.

Lomp was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church where he was an usher.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Lomp was a member of the Sons of Italy, an avid golfer playing in the Fayette County Seniors Golf League and the Nemacolin Woodlands golf league, an avid gardener, a member of the Kolencik Gas Station gang and he worked for many years at Famous Supply Company in Uniontown.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Eddie Rae Mills Lombardo; his loving daughter, Lynne Ann Lombardo of Cleveland, Ohio; two granddaughters: Sarrah Smart and Stephanie Tehoke; two great-grandchildren: Brendan Strimpel and Doniven Smart; his brother, Salvatore “Sal” Lombardo Jr. and wife Barb of Uniontown; sisters: Carmella Kordich of Perryopolis, Pa. and Lucille Pucher and husband Roy of Parma, Ohio; many loving nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Ruth Mills of Uniontown; sister-in-law, Jackie Pratt and husband Skip of Bluffton, South Carolina, and many friends including his very special friend Mike Zavatchen of Uniontown.

Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa. today (Monday, June 21, 2010) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, and Tuesday morning until 9:30 am when a Blessing Service will be held followed by a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Michael Matusak VF., Pastor as celebrant.

Interment follows in Mt. Macrina Cemetery.

Parish Wake Service will be held today, June 21, 2010 at 3 pm in the funeral home.
