Elizabeth Alton Griffin
Elizabeth Alton Griffin, 91, of Uniontown, died in the LaFayette Manor Nursing Home, Monday, June 21, 2010. She was born July 12, 1918, in Leckrone, the daughter of the late James R. Alton and Sarah Haught Alton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John William Griffin and three brothers, James R. Alton, John Alton, and Leslie Alton.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Uniontown High School Class of 1936 and a Life Member of the Third Presbyterian Church, was a Sunday School Teacher for many years, and was active with the Youth Club.
She is survived by two sons: Larry Griffin and wife Sharon of Uniontown and Rev. Dr. Robert Griffin and wife Lynne of Lancaster, PA; two daughters: Linda Tronzo of Oak Island, NC and Billie Gail (BG) Huebner and husband Bill of Uniontown; four grandchildren: Brian Griffin and wife Stacey, David Huebner, Rebekah Olson and husband Josh, and Taylor Anne Griffin. Also three great-grandchildren; Lauren and Julia Griffin, and Liam Olson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA 15401 where the family will receive friends today, June 22, 2010 from 7 until 9 PM, and on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 2 until 4 PM and 7 until 9 PM. Visitation will continue Thursday June 24, 2010 from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM at the Third Presbyterian Church, followed by a service celebrating Elizabeth’s life at 12:30 PM with Rev. Christopher Enoch, Rev. William D. Rodahaver, and Jack Herman officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
