Most charges dismissed against man charged with running from police

By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

Most charges filed against a New Salem man accused of running from police resulting in an injury to a pursuing officer were dismissed today. Uniontown police Detective Donald M. Gmitter said Patrick Michael Odum, 21, of 109 Harn St. was charged last week before Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros with three counts of aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault, obstructing the administration of law, fleeing and eluding police and a traffic violation.

Metros dismissed all charges against Odum except for the fleeing and eluding charge and the traffic violation following a preliminary hearing today.

Gmitter said the charges were filed after he and Officer David J. Rutter attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Odum on Lincoln Street Friday.
