Amelia Margie Downey
Amelia Margie Downey, of Bobtown, PA died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 in the Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Downey in 2006, a brother, Frank, two sisters in infancy and her parents, Frank & Mary Cepic Krall.
Surviving are a son, Dan Patrick Downey & wife, Sue of Dallas, PA, a daughter, Maria Zieglar & husband Joe “Chip” of Dilliner, PA, a sister, Helen MacLeod of Woodbridge, VA, four grandchildren: Amy & Brian Downey and Joseph D. & Alaina Zieglar.
Amelia formerly worked at Mon General Hospital as an LPN after receiving her training at the Greene County Vocational School.
She was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church of Bobtown, PA where she was past president of the Rosary & Altar Society.
She was a charter member of the Warrior Trail Association.
Friends will be received in the PAUL M. LESAKO FUNERAL HOME, INC. 204 Dowlin Ave., Carmichaels, PA, on Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM and on Friday at 9:30 AM, when a prayer service will be held in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Ignatius Catholic Church Bobtown, PA with Rev. Father Larry Holp as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Monongahela Hill Cemetery.
