Area native to sign books at library
The Rev. R. Michael Tarpley, formerly of Fairchance, recently published a book and will host a book-signing this weekend in Uniontown. Tarpley, son of Robert and Sylvia Tarpley of Fairchance, is the founder of Hallelujah Praise Ministries, a prison ministry that serves inmates and their families in Maryland and Washington, D.C.
Tarpley’s new book, “Be Fruitful and Multiply: Spiritual Pregnancy,” is an examination of how God has given man the ability to tap limitless potential through spiritual growth.
“He was licensed as a pastor at Mount Rose Baptist Church in Uniontown in 2000 by the late Rev. Ludwell D. Wiley,” Sylvia Tarpley said Monday. “He has been working at the prison ministry since then and it keeps him very busy. But I never expected him to write a book. The Lord has really used him and I am so proud.”
Tarpley, who now resides in Odenton, Md., with his wife and three children, also works as a real estate investor, a finance coach and will produce his first play later this summer, “The Good Fight of Faith.”
The book-signing will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Uniontown Public Library.
