John Mancini Jr.
John Mancini Jr., age 85, of Dunbar, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at home surrounded by his loving Family and Friends. He was born September 29, 1924 in Dunbar, Pennsylvania the son of John Mancini and Zella Dudley Mancini.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 21 in Connellsville, American Legion Hughes Post, Dunbar, the Dunbar Historical Society, and Irishtown Sportsman Club.
He graduated from Dunbar High School, Class of 1943.
He was a Veteran of World War II who served with the Navy in the Pacific Theatre.
He retired from the former Anchor Hocking Glass in South Connellsville after 27 years of service as a Machinist Mechanic.
He was a former employee of Connellsville Mine Supply.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Bell Mancini in 1988; his parents; brothers, Harry Mancini and Tom Mancini; and a sister, Lulu Provance.
Surviving are his Children: John Mancini and wife Alene of Dunbar Township, Pennsylvania and Kristen Fritts and husband Bryan, Gainesville, Virginia; grandchildren: Jason Bartholomai of Dunbar who cared for his grandfather, Joshua Mancini and Brittany Mancini both of Dunbar Township; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Mancini, Dunbar Township; nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Family will receive Friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, June 25, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville S t r e e t, Dunbar, Pennsylvania.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Ewing Marietta and Pastor Robert Wrachford officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mount Auburn Cemetery, Dunbar, Pennsylvania.
