Mary Watson Hibbs
0005891637-01-1.jpg Mary Watson Hibbs of Sun City Center, FL, formerly of Uniontown, Pa. was called home on Saturday, June 12, 2010. She was born on August 9, 1918 in Ursina, Pa. to Lottie Wills Watson and James B. Watson.
Mary was predeceased by her parents; husband, Wilbur Hibbs; son, J. Philip Hibbs; and brother, James A. Watson.
A graduate of Confluence (Pennsylvania) High School and California Normal School, she furthered her studies at California, Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia and Duke Universities.
Mary graciously served her Lord in community and church in many ways: an educator in the Uniontown Area School District; filling numerous roles at Great Bethel Baptist Church and various c o m m u n i t y organizations including the Uniontown Service League, Delta Kappa Gamma, and as a hospital volunteer.
She will be loving missed by all she touched: her siblings, Robert and his wife Marjorie, Betty Ingle and husband Dick, Barbara Anne Strowd and her husband Elvin and brother Tom; son, Roddy Hibbs and wife Ruthann and daughter-in-law Marsha; nephew, Holbert Hibbs and wife Anna; grandchildren; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at the GREAT BETHEL BAPTIST CHURCH, 47 West Fayette Street, Uniontown, Pa. on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 11 a.m.
Arrangements are under direction of the J. HARRY JOHNSTON FUNERAL HOME, 65 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, PA 15401.
