John Quinn “Duke” Stenger
John Quinn “Duke” Stenger, 90 of Uniontown, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully Friday June 25, 2010 in Lafayette Manor, Uniontown. He was born June 11, 1920 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania the son of John Stenger and Marie Miller Stenger.
Mr. Stenger worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Union Local 66.
He also worked at Holiday Mobile Home Park and for Better Living Mobile Homes.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in West Leisenring, Pennsylvania.
On May 19, 1943, John married Mabel R. Pletcher Stenger of Somerset County, who survives.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky L. Stenger; by his parents; four brothers, Jesse Stenger, Donald Stenger, Robert Stenger and Edward Stenger; and sisters, Alice Fee, Leona Yeskey and Rebecca Stenger.
In addition to his wife, Mabel, he is survived by a son, Eric Q. Stenger and his wife Donna of Uniontown, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Connie D. Knight and husband Edward of Dawson, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren: Christy L. Goodwin and her fiance Ben Harbaugh of Dawson, John Richard “J.R.” Knight, Dawson Kim L. Stenger, Kody Q. Stenger, Charlie Stenger and Evelyn Stenger all of Uniontown; two great grandchildren: Kayla Dawn Goodwin of Dawson, Josh Quinn Stenger of Uniontown; his nephews: Terry L. Kimmel of Dunbar, Pennsylvania, Dave “Butch” Kerr, Larry Pletcher, Ed Pletcher and Frank Pletcher; his nieces: Donna Tomasko and Karen Lorenzo; also other numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in BROOKS FUNERAL H O M E I N C., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, Pennsylvania where Services will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Donna Stenger officiating
Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pennsylvania.
