Man flees

Wharton Twp. State police said Andrew S. Meyers, 26, of Friendsville, Md., fled the scene of a crash after vehicles driven by Meyers and Eric L. Collins, 27, of Hopwood collided on Route 40 in front of National Pike Restaurant & Lounge at 12:32 a.m. Sunday. Police said Meyers was allegedly speeding when he sideswiped Collins’ vehicle and that Meyers fled the scene on foot after his vehicle became disabled. Police said neither Lindsey Doerr, 26, of Accident, Md., who was a passenger in Meyers’ vehicle, nor Collins and his three passengers suffered injuries as a result of the crash. Police said Meyers faces multiple charges, including hit-and-run, failure to give information and render aid and careless driving. German Twp. Two injured

State police said Mary M. Matzus of Hopwood and Kayla Blakley of Waynesburg suffered injuries when vehicles driven by Matzus and Blakley collided at the intersection of Route 166 and Old McClellandtown Road at 1:45 p.m. Saturday. Police said Matzus was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., with unknown injuries. Her condition was not available Sunday. Blakley, according to police, was taken to Uniontown Hospital for treatment of minor injuries following the crash.

North Union Twp. Man charged

Joshua Chambers, 21, of Uniontown was charged with criminal mischief after he allegedly broke a window out of a structure located at 20 Leith St. owned by Robert Softcheck, 59, of Uniontown at 2:37 p.m. Wednesday, state police said.

South Union Twp. Watch stolen

State police said Robert Lowry Jr., 24, of Uniontown was charged with retail theft for allegedly stealing a watch from Sears department store in Uniontown Mall at 3:20 p.m. Saturday.

Georges Twp. Phone stolen

Sara Jean Howard, 63, of Uniontown reported a cell phone belonging to her was stolen from 82 Kyle Ave. between 5 and 6 p.m. Friday, state police said.

Nicholson Twp. Bicycle stolen

State police said Jacklin Bankhead, 32, of New Geneva reported a bicycle was stolen from 16 South St. between 4 p.m. Tuesday and noon Friday.

North Union Twp. Crash reported

State police said no one was injured when vehicles driven by Erika L. Rossi, 27, of Dunbar and Thomas E. Reckner Sr., 61, of Lemont Furnace crashed on Route 119 at 3 p.m. May 8.
