Edna Berle Harshman Groppi
0005858455-01-1.jpg Edna Berle Harshman Groppi, 81, of Uniontown, Pa., met her Lord and Savior Saturday, May 1, 2010. She had been residing for the past three years at Point Manor North Personal Care Home.
Edna was born May 17, 1928, in Uniontown.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Peter “PF” Harshman and Laura Bell Manges Harshman, her husband, Leo E. Groppi in 1997, eight siblings, Lloyd, Harold, Eugene, James, Clyde and Robert Harshman and Dorothy Noakes and Margaret Joy, a dear brother-in-law, the Rev. Norman Marks and a son-in-law, Brad Stevenson.
Edna was a long time member of the Church of God.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She loved her family!
She loved life and lived it to the fullest.
When she was young Edna enjoyed dancing. It was thru her love of dancing she met her husband of 49 years, Leo E. Groppi.
Edna will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are four children: Linda A. Stevenson of Centreville, MD, Leo J. Groppi, Sr. and wife, Diane of Uniontown, Laura C. Bell and husband, Delbert of Moore, SC and Donna J. Aukerman and husband, Curt of Cleveland, TN; seven grandchildren: Chuck Stevenson, Leo Groppi, Jr., Jennifer Crosby and husband, John, Justin Groppi and fiancee’, Amanda Fordyce, Curtis Aukerman, Jeff Bell and Chad Aukerman; three great-grandchildren: Jason Thomas Stevenson, Ella Grace Groppi and Hannah Rose Crosby; two sisters: Evelyn Marks of Uniontown and Mary Lou Jakway of Cocoa Beach, FL and many nieces and nephews and friends.
Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, Pa. on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday until 11 a.m. in the Church of God, Route 51 North, of Uniontown. Servicew will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Elliott C. Leighty and the Rev. Curt Aukerman officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
