Man nabbed on bench warrant
A Uniontown man wanted for skipping out on an appearance in Fayette County Court on drug charges was arrested Sunday morning at a Georges Township motel. Albert Theodore Greeley III, 28, of 66 Prospect St. was supposed to have appeared in court in February to stand trial on drug charges. However, Greeley failed to show up, and on Feb. 1, Judge Ralph C. Warman issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
The charges relate to a traffic stop on Oct. 30, 2008, on Vardell Street in Uniontown.
When state police stopped his car, they allegedly found Greeley in possession of 124 grams of cocaine, marijuana and $6,000 cash.
He faces charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver drugs.
Trooper James Pierce said authorities followed a tip and found Greeley at the Karolyn Motel around 11 a.m.
Greeley was taken into custody and placed in the county prison.
Pierce indicated in a release that Uniontown police and the Allegheny County sheriff’s office also wanted Greeley for failure to appear for drug and traffic violations.
