By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

An educational event called “Active Living with Osteoporosis” will be held at Grandview Medical Center in Uniontown at 2 p.m. Friday, June 4. Sue Spinuzza, clinical coordinator for the Center for Osteoporosis at Grandview Medical, will speak about osteoporosis and why patients are at risk for fractures.

Spencer Sewell, physical therapist and director of outpatient services for the Redstone Rehabilitation Group, will speak about proper body mechanics to avoid fractures.

The event is funded, in part, by a grant from the Soroptomists International of Fayette County. It is interactive and free.

Registration is open to anyone with osteoporosis.

Anyone interested in the event is asked to call Norma Snyder, a member of the Soroptimists who is working with the osteoporosis project, at 724-322-7853.
