By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

The most serious charges against a Brownsville man accused of threatening a woman with a handgun in Brownsville May 18 were withdrawn or dismissed this afternoon. Brownsville police Sgt. John Brant said Bruce James Carr, 29, was charged before Magisterial District Judge Michael Defino with aggravated assault, two counts of terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, possession of prohibited weapon, carrying a firearm without a license, harassment and disorderly conduct following the incident.

After it was learned through testimony Monday that the gun was found to be a pellet gun, Fayette County Assistant District Attorney J.W. Eddy withdrew the charges of possession of prohibited weapon and carrying a firearm without a license and Defino dismissed the aggravated assault charge against Carr.
