Connellsville stops Uniontown in opener

Connellsville sealed a 7-4 win over Uniontown in American Legion play Monday with three runs in the top of the ninth in the season opener for both teams. Tyler McWilliams earned the win for Connellsville (1-0) as Nick Forsythe took the loss for Uniontown (0-1).

Geo Schiano and Dave Gaisbauer each doubled for Uniontown and Dylan Clifford homered.

Cody Ward, Seth Campbell and Ryan Craft each doubled for Connellsville.

Uniontown is scheduled to face California Wednesday.
