Dorothy E. “Dot” (Sandusky) Kubicar

Dorothy E. “Dot” Sandusky Kubicar, 87, longtime resident of Dilliner, Pennsylvania died Thursday, May 27, 2010 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. Born in Dilliner on August 27, 1922 she was the daughter of Charles Sandusky and Edna (Field) Sandusky.

A graduate of Mapletown High School, “Dot” was a very faithful and active member of the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Dilliner and of the United Methodist Women.

Over the years, she had worked at the Pentagon during World War II, for Houze Glass and also West Point Marion Lumber Company both in Point Marion, Pennsylvania and retired as a Clerk from the West Virginia University Video Library.

Her husband of 52 years, Edward J. Kubicar, passed away November 16, 2001. Also deceased are a son Frank in infancy; sister, Mary Elizabeth Headlee; and her parents.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Kubicar and his wife Linda, Dilliner; grandchildren Aimee Girod and husband Jack, Matthew Burwell and wife Nina, Bethany Kubicar; and six great-grandchildren: Laura, Lilly, Emma and J.P. Girod, Toni and Adi Burwell.

Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, P o i n t Marion, Pennsylvania o n Monday, May 31, from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 1, from 10 until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Kenneth Haines officiating

Interment will follow in Wolf’s Cemetery, Dilliner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Building Fund, % Nick Shuppe, Treasurer, 480 Budapest Road, Dilliner, PA 15327.
