Dolores (Hout)
Gabler Dolores (Hout) Gabler, 80 years of Uniontown, Pa., died Friday, October 8, 2010 in Uniontown Hospital.
She was born May 28, 1930 in Uniontown, daughter of Charles Hout and Anna (James) Hout.
Dolores was a 1947 graduate of Uniontown Area High School and a 1952 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
She was associated with her husband from 1963 until 2010 in the Fayette Drug Store, Health Mart Stores and the Gabler’s Drug Store.
She was past president of the Uniontown College Club, a past vice president of the Uniontown Hospital Auxiliary and a member of the Uniontown Country Club. Dolores taught Sunday School in the primary department of the Central Christian Church for seventeen years. She was an at large member of the Hazel G. Cluss Circle at the Asbury United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband of sixty years, Robert Gabler and three children: Robert Jr. and friend Marilee Tucker of Virginia City, Montana, Laura Michael and husband David of Ipswich, Mass. and Charles Gabler and wife Sheila of Uniontown, Pa. Also surviving are four grandchidren: Alex Gabler and James Gabler of Uniontown, Pa. and Benjamin and Katie Michael of Ipswich, Massachusetts.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where family will receive friends today (Sunday) from 2 until 5 p.m. and on Monday, October 11, 2010 from 10 until 11 a.m. followed by a service celebrating Dolores’s life at 11 a.m. with Rev. Donald Kephart officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
