Teen charged with punching undercover officer in face

By Josh Krysak 2 min read

The older brother of a Uniontown teenager accused of shooting and killing a Uniontown teen is now facing charges, too, after he allegedly punched an undercover police officer, police said. Uniontown police said Christopher Chisler, 18, of 52 Pershing Court was charged before Magisterial District Judge Wendy D. Dennis with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest and possession with intent to deliver drugs.

Police said the incident occurred around shortly before 5 a.m. Thursday on Carlisle Street when Chisler approached an undercover officer from the Fayette County Drug Task Force and attempted to sell him crack cocaine.

When the officer identified himself as an undercover officer, Chisler punched him in the face, police said.

Police said the officer and another undercover policeman were able to take Chisler to the ground, where he continued to resist arrest.

He was eventually placed in police custody.

Chisler was placed in the Fayette County Prison on $50,000 straight cash bond following his arraignment.

A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date before Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros.

Chisler is the older brother of Ramal O. “Lovey” Chisler, 16, who was charged Sept. 17 with homicide in the shooting death of Tiffany Moody, 17, of Uniontown.

Prior to the shooting in Uniontown, Ramal Chisler had been on the run from police for several months for an alleged gang attack in Uniontown in May.

He has yet to be arraigned on those charges and remains in prison without bond on the homicide charge.

A preliminary hearing for Ramal Chisler will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 26 before Metros.
