By Josh Krysak 1 min read

A Uniontown man suffered injuries when he was struck by a car while walking near the intersection of Fayette and Iowa streets in Uniontown Thursday. City police Officer Chuck David said Jonathan Campbell, 19, of 43 Lincoln St. was walking across the intersection of Fayette Street and the entrance to the Uniontown Post Office when he was struck by the vehicle.

The car, driven by George Saber, 88, also of Uniontown, was turning into the lot from Fayette Street when Campbell was struck.

David said police and emergency personnel found Campbell lying in the parking lot awake and alert shortly after 9 a.m.

Emergency personnel from Uniontown Firemen’s Ambulance took Campbell to Uniontown Hospital for treatment, David said.

An update on his condition was not available, although police said his injuries appeared to be minor.

Saber did not suffer injuries, David noted.

Uniontown firefighters joined Uniontown police and emergency personnel from Uniontown Firemen’s Ambulance at the scene.
