Man dies in car accident An East Millsboro man was killed when his car hit a tree early Saturday in Luzerne Township. State police in Belle Vernon said Steven C. Conaway, 37, was pronounced dead shortly after the 4:30 a.m. accident on Keeny Row Road.

Trooper David J. Hamer said Conaway, who was wearing a seat belt, did not negotiate a left curve in the road, and crossed both lanes of Keeny Row Road. Conaway’s Chevrolet Cavalier was spinning counterclockwise, police said, and the vehicle left the road.

The car hit a road sign, a tree stump and a large tree, and then flipped onto its roof, police said.

Fayette County Deputy Coroner Alvin Sapp III pronounced Conaway dead at the scene at 5:13 a.m., police said.

Authorities were assisted at the scene by Tower Hill and Isabella volunteer fire departments.
