Frank “Dick” Dunham

Frank “Dick” Dunham, 91, of Smithfield, Pa. died peacefully on Monday, August 30, 2010. He was born June 9, 1919, in Haydentown, Pa., son of the late Martin Dunham and Emma Miller Dunham.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Frances Brady Dunham; his son, Keith Dunham; his great grandson, Samuel David Dunham and brothers and sisters, Lizzy, Earl, Annie, Ray, Joe, Olive, Paul, Herb, Clarence, Pearl, Belle, Harry, Edith and Viola.

Frank was the last surviving member of his parents’ immediate family.

During WW II, he served his country in Europe with the United States Army.

Frank enjoyed animals and farming.

Surviving are his son, Michael F. Dunham and wife Karen; grandsons, Michael Ray Dunham and wife Karen, David Dunham and wife Sheri and Mark Dunham; great- grandchildren, Jordan Frances Dunham, Noah Joseph Dunham and Hannah Grace Dunham and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.

Graveside services will be held in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa. on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 10 a.m. with his son, Michael F. Dunham officiating and Military Rites being accorded by Amvets Post 103.

The family extends their deepest appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Sundale Nursing Home in Morgantown, WV for their wonderful and compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the March of Dimes, 3508 Stauton Avenue SE, Second Floor, Charleston, WV 25304.
