Harvey H. Thompson
Harvey H. Thompson, age 94 of Ohiopyle, Pa. passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2010 in his home. He was born June 24, 1916 in Chalk Hill, Pa., son of the late Samuel and Lulu (Wise) Thompson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son William who served 30 years in the Air Force and retired in California, a daughter Linda Orndorff, a granddaughter Denise Orndorff and three sons in law, these brothers and sister: James, Charles, Elmer, Altha, Samuel and Lawrence Shrivo and Mary Bryner.
He owned and operated Connellsville Building Block for many years. In later years he operated a Saw mill at Chalk Hill, Pa. and has been retired for many years.
Harvey was a member of the Chalk Hill United Methodist Church.
Harvey leaves behind his wife of 69 years Lois (Hanks) Thompson; a son Edward Thompson and wife Fran; Daughters: Elaine Hilling and husband John, Judy McGourty Jane Harris and friend Walt VanSickle; 12 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, FARMINGTON, PA. today (Thursday) from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday until 11:00 a.m., the hour of service with Pastor William Hanks officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Chalk Hill, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chalk Hill United Methodist Church.
