Mary Sabo Vegoda
Mary E. Sabo Vegoda, 97, of Brownsville, Pennsylvania died on Sunday, August 29, 2010 in Briarfield Manor, Youngstown, Ohio. Born November 24, 1912 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania she was the Daughter of Stephen Sabo and Frances Rajz Sabo.
Mary was a member of The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, Jednota, First Catholic Slovak Association, The Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and Brownsville Cross Keys
She was the former owner of Michael’s Grocery on Water Street in Brownsville.
She was predeceased by her Husband, Michael L. Vegoda; Sister, Katherine Sabo; and Brothers, Andrew Sabo and Stephen Sabo.
She is survived two Sons: Edward Vegoda and wife Janet of Youngstown, Ohio and Ronald Vegoda of Newark, Delaware; Grandchildren:Lori Lawless and husband Shawn, Kirk Vegoda, Kevin Vegoda; Great Grandchildren: Trevor Lawless and Tara Lawless; one Brother, Joseph Sabo; several Nieces and Nephews.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME at 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pennsylvania on Monday from 5 until 8 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 10:30 a.m.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville with Rev. Father Micah E. Kozoil as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pennsylvania.
A Parish Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Monday evening at 6:30.
