Man faces assault, burglary charges
A West Virginia man was charged with attacking a 17-year-old Greene County man who got a ride home from the suspect’s ex-girlfriend, state police said. Jessica Lee Jeffries, 29, told police she was driving Sean A. Rossi, 17, to his home in the Cedar Ridge Apartments in Franklin Township when she realized that her ex-boyfriend George Donald Lagos was blocking the entrance with his vehicle around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
She said she drove into a parking lot off Elm Drive and got out of her car. Jeffries told police that Lagos, 31, of Moundsville, W.Va., was yelling and seemed irate when he got out of his vehicle, police said.
Jeffries reported that Lagos threw her to the ground, opened the back door of her car and began punching Rossi in the head and face, police said.
Rossi told police he got out of the car and Lagos asked him for his cell phone. He said he gave Lagos the phone, but Lagos refused to return it, police said.
Jeffries and Rossi got back in the car and Jeffries dropped off Rossi at his home, police said.
After Rossi entered his home, he reported that Lagos kicked open the front door and chased him into a back room. He told police Lagos threw him to the floor and repeatedly hit him in the face and head, police said.
Jeffries said she went back to Rossi’s home and tried to pull Lagos off Rossi, but Lagos threw her to the ground and threatened to kill her, police said.
Rossi said Lagos threw him against a mirror and them left, police said, adding that Rossi suffered bruises to his head, face, neck and chest.
Lagos turned himself in and was arraigned on burglary, theft, simple assault and harassment charges Wednesday, police said. He was released on unsecured bond, police said.
