Wayne Nevin Voelker age 74 of Brownsville, PA died on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Wayne was born on December 5, 1935 to the late Nevin W. Voelker and Valeria Gaca Voelker.

He was employed by the Duquesne Light at Warwick Mine until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the UMWA Local 6310

He previously was Vice President of United Door Company in Beacon, New York.

He served with the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, NASCAR, Steelers and watching Brownsville High School Football Games with his buddies Don and Mike.

He is survived by his wife Jean Boyd Voelker of 46 years; two Sons: James D. Markley and wife Cindy – Burgettstown, PA and Fred K. Markley and wife Carol – Austell, GA; three Daughters: Carol Jean Geyer and husband Donnie – Marienville, PA, Toni M. Neil and husband Fred, Sr. – New Salem, PA and Bonnie VanDivner and husband Albert, Sr. – Blainsburg, PA; 13 Grandchildren: Mark, Greg and Michael Geyer, Lori Walters, Trisha Pelehac, Tracy Evans, Tiffany Bendo, Albert VanDivner, Jr., Josh and Heather Markley, Fred Markley, Jr., Josh and Ben Morgan; 11 Great Grandchildren; Nieces, Nephews and Cousins: Blain Voelker, Lorene Voelker Dull and husband Michael; Loving Uncle: Brownie Gaca – Duquesne, PA; and many special friends.

Family and friends will be welcomed today from 2 – 9PM in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME 135 Park St., Brownsville, PA. where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:30 PM with the Rev. Nick Beatty officiating.

Interment in Lafayette Memorial Park.
