By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

State police are investigating an armed bank robbery that occurred this afternoon in Washington County. Trooper Thomas Hartley said the suspect entered Charleroi Federal Savings Bank, located on Main Street in Bentleyville, at 12:29 p.m.

The suspect pointed a gun at two banks employees and a customer while demanding money, Hartley said.

The suspect then fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money, and was last seen heading west on Johnston Road and south on to Garden Street.

Hartley said the suspect is described as being a white male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 180 pounds. He wore a black mask, white flannel-type shirt with grey, light blue or black stripes, light denim jeans and white sneakers.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police at 724-929-6262.
