Charlotte E. Boyd Barber
Charlotte E. Boyd Barber, 88, of Point Marion, Pa., and a resident of Sundale Rest Home in Morgantown, West Virginia for the past several years, died Saturday, September 18, 2010, in the Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown. Born on May 3, 1922 in Whitehouse, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of George D. Boyd and Mary (Wright) Boyd.
A member of the Jehovah’s Witness congregation in Morgantown, Charlotte had worked in the Mon General Hospital kitchen for twenty years, until retirement in 1984.
Surviving are two children: Calvin Barber and his wife Iva Jean of Morgantown and Martha Barber Goodwin of Point Marion; grandchildren: Mike Barber, Joyce Benson, Cheryl Kurilla, Patrina Hower, Martha Colebank, Ray E. Goodwin, Alan Goodwin and Mary Jane Crum; 18 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and brother, Robert Boyd of Poulsbo, Washington.
She was predeceased by a her parents; daughter, Ruth Ann McKeever; a sister, Ruth Boyd; and brothers, Richard Boyd and Grover Boyd.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, P o i n t Marion, today 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 and Wednesday, September 22, from Noon until 1:30 p.m., the hour of Service with Dennis Thomas officiating.
Interment follows in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pennsylvania.
