Area man fires shots into air

MASONTOWN – No one was injured when a Masontown man fired multiple gunshots into the air during an incident early Sunday. Masontown police said they were called to a residence in Fort Mason Village at 4:35 a.m. for a report of shots fired.

When police arrived, they said they found the suspect waving a handgun and acting “highly upset.”

Police said they were able to disarm the man without incident.

The man’s identity is being withheld pending the formalization of charges.

State police and several state constables assisted Masontown police at the scene of the incident.
