Hit-and-run
Franklin Twp. State police said vehicles driven by David A. Durbin, 46, of Waynesburg and an unidentified driver collided on Route 18 in Greene County at 2:25 p.m. Thursday. According to police, the unidentified driver allegedly lost control of his or her vehicle, causing it to strike the driver’s side mirror of Durbin’s vehicle. The unidentified driver fled the scene following the collision in a white pickup truck, possibly a Ford, with an extended cab and maroon lettering on the driver’s side door. Police said neither Durbin nor two passengers in his vehicle suffered injuries. Anyone with information on the identity of the truck driver is asked to call police at 724-627-6151. The Luketich family told state police in Belle Vernon that someone shot through an upstairs bedroom window between 1:30 and 2 a.m. Saturday, within inches of the teenage family members who were sleeping.
Redstone Twp. Arson
State police in Belle Vernon said someone lit on fire the left rear quarter panel of a white 2010 Jeep Liberty, owned by Dollar Rent a Car – Car Rental Finance Corp. of Cleveland, as it was parked in the Village of Fairbank, early Friday morning. The exterior of the vehicle was damaged. State police fire marshal will investigate.
Uniontown Woman cited
Uniontown city police said Ashley DeVince of Uniontown was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct following a disturbance that happened late Friday on West Berkeley Avenue.
Uniontown Door kicked in
Uniontown city police said someone kicked a back door in at 66 Lincoln St. about 6 p.m. Friday. Police said nothing appeared missing from the house.
Redstone Twp. Crash
State police in Belle Vernon said Lewis Bradley, 41, of Vanderbilt lost control of his 1984 Chevrolet Corvette while driving along SR4007, struck a cement barrier and a parked 2003 Pontiac Sunfire at 1 a.m. Friday.
East Huntingdon Twp. Crash reported
State police said vehicles driven by William Seaman of Acme, Donna Yarabinetz of Greensburg, David Hoyman of Mount Pleasant and William Zimmerman of Dunbar collided on Route 819 at 12:55 p.m. Monday.
Police said Yarabinetz, Zimmerman and a passenger in Zimmerman’s car each suffered minor injuries.
Menallen Twp. Criminal mischief
State police in Uniontown said someone spray-painted obscenities on multiple houses and damaged a mailbox on Krulock Road and Stoney Point Road sometime between 11:15 p.m. Sept. 20 and 8 a.m. Sept. 21. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-439-7111.
Wharton Twp. Burglary
State police in Uniontown said someone entered the Lefette Trail summer home of Jerry Rendina of Boyton Beach, Fla., and engaged in criminal mischief activities sometime between Aug. 10 and 15. The inside of the building has been damaged. Value is unknown. Investigation is continuing.
Everson Shed burglarized
State police said a shed owned by Cora J. Fratto and located on Maple Street was burglarized between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 4 p.m. Thursday. Police said a plastic storage box was removed from the shed but left in the yard. Two sets of bolt cutters and a screwdriver were also found on the property, police said, estimating damage to the shed at $100.
Franklin Twp. Man charged
State police said Jeffrey L. Lapping, 44, of Waynesburg was charged with harassment after he allegedly grabbed Caire Ann Pena, 41, of Waynesburg around the neck and threw her on the ground at 125 Stewart St., Greene County, at 12:30 a.m. Friday.
Jefferson Counterfeit used
State police said someone used a counterfeit $10 bill to purchase items at Belko Foods in Greene County at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday.
Morgan Twp. Man arrested
State police said Robert M. Deter, 22, of Washington was charged with theft for allegedly stealing two guns from a Jefferson Road, Greene County, residence between 8 a.m. Sept. 14 and 8:45 p.m. Thursday. Police said the guns belonged to Robert E. Deter, 56, of Waynesburg.
The charges were filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Lee Watson.
