Boys soccer
Geibel Catholic 3, Beth-Center 2 – Jon Guest scored a second half goal to give the Gators the victory. Dayne Detweiler and Jason Choung also scored one goal each for the Gators in the first and second half, respectively.
Bulldogs’ Aaron Ankney tied the game at 2-2 in the second half while teammate Shane Urbine scored a goal in the first half.
Preston (W.Va.) 2, Albert Gallatin 0 – The Colonials couldn’t get the win over state line as the Knights’ Brandon Waugerman scored two goals.
Colonials’ goalie Sean Smearcheck saved 27 shots.
Boys golf
Bentworth 216, Geibel Catholic 220 – The Bearcats came out on top despite down a golfer.
Medalist Garratt Damvich finished with 40 while teammates Tyler Delral, Shelby Dziak and Kyle Kubovich shot 41, 42 and 42, respectively.
Sam Lapcevic carded with 51 for the Bearcats.
Gators’ Ryan Lucostic tied Damvich with a score of 40 while Mike Noonan finished with a 41.
Jace Blout and Ryan Robson shot 46 each and Mike Spegar carded for the Gators with a 47.
Girls volleyball
Frazier 3, California 0 – Frazier improved to 6-0 with set wins of 25-1, 25-9 and 25-12.
Amanda Pato had 25 service points and Savannah Prue had seven kills for the Lady Commodores.
Megan Manack and Gena Keebler also contributed 10 and seven kills respectively for the Lady Commodores.
Carmichaels 3, Mapletown 1 – The Lady Mikes won in four sets 25-13, 25-6, 7-25 and 25-12.
Sarah Hathaway had 20 service points and 20 assists while Marissa Krall had 15 service points for the Lady Mikes.
Kristi Guritza had one ace, four digs, and one kill for the Lady Maples.
Felicia Burns and Molly Namet had three digs and seven digs respectively for the Maples
Jefferson-Morgan 3, West Greene 0 – The Lady Rockets swept the Lady Pioneers with set scores of 25-16, 25-15 and 25-12
Page Huber had seven kills and Courtney Lippencott had six kills for the Rockets who travel to Mapletown on Sept 30.
Women’s volleyball
Penn State Fayette 3, Chatham 0; Bethany 3, Penn State Fayette 0 – The Lady Lions swept the first of their non-section games, 25-17, 25-15 and 25-23.
Katie Sleasman had 36 assists, Leah Ambrofini had 13 kills, and Marney Hillen and Kaitlin Fidel had nine service points apiece for the Lady Lions.
The Bison bested the Lady Lions in the second match with set scores of 25-16, 25-9 and 25-13.
Sleasman had 25 assists against the Bison, while Ambrofini and Hillen had six and four kills respectively.
Aliana Weiss also recorded three blocks for the Lady Lions who return to PSUAC action tonight when they host Penn State Allegheny at 7 p.m.
Men’s soccer
California 3, Ohio Valley (W.Va.) 0 – Three different players scored for the Vulcans with Brady Sanders recording the first goal.
Men’s golf
Jay Jennison Memorial (Flager, Fla.) – California’s men’s team placed 15th in the inaugural tournament.
