Jesse H. Dayton, Jr.
Jesse H. Dayton, Jr., age 80 of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2010 in Uniontown Hospital. He was born November 23, 1929 in Thompson #1, son of the late Jesse H. Dayton, Sr. and Lida Nedley Dayton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou Lowther Dayton and his son Gary Dayton.
Jesse was a member of Central Christian Church in Uniontown, Pa., a retired employee of A & P Company with thirty-four years of service in Uniontown, Point Marion and Masontown and a retired agent with Prudential Insurance Company with ten years of service. He was a veteran of World War II Airborne.
He is survived by three sons and one daughter: Greg Dayton and wife Janis of Hurst, Texas, Keith Dayton and wife Sue of Jupitor, Florida, Terri Shazer and husband Allen of Smithfield and Bradley Dayton and wife Christine of Attleboro, Massachusetts; his grandson Justin Dayton of Uniontown; his brother Roy Dayton and wife Ruth of Uniontown and his sister Elizabeth Helm and husband James of Baltimore, Maryland.
Friends will be received in DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem on Friday, October 1, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service with Rev. Art Mace officiating.
Interment will be held in Acklin Cemetery, Brownsville at a later date.
