Carrie Louise (Colflesh) Weimer

Carrie Louise (Colflesh) Weimer, age 76 of Masontown, Pa., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 30, 2011.

She passed while in the comfort of her daughter’s home in West Virginia.

She was born on November 1, 1934 in Addison Township, Pa., daughter of the late John and Mary (Knox) Colflesh.

She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Howard ‘Jake’ Weimer, Jr., whom she wed on August 30, 1954, 4 brothers, Ronald, Paul, Victor, and Dale Colflesh.

Carrie grew up in Confluence and was a graduate of Confluence High School Class of 1952. During that time she was a member of the Confluence Church of the Nazarene where at age 11 started as the Church Pianist and sang in a group with her sisters. She moved to Masontown, Pa. in 1964.

Over the years, she was also an active and faithful member of the following local churches, where in each she served as Pianist for the Choir and worship services, Choir Member, and Bible School Teacher. She was a member of the Somerset Nazarene Church; the Masontown Brethren Church where she worked in the after school program for children in grade school; the Greensboro Nazarene Church, where she served as Board Member, NMI President and NYI President, member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Morgantown; and member of the Pierpont Church of the Nazarene where she was active in the Senior Citizens group and their Senior District trips.

She sang in the Billy Graham Crusade Choir in Waynesburg, Pa. on two occasions and also was a volunteer for the National Heart Association.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving family: daughter, Connie Ann Estep of Morgantown, W.Va.; 2 grandchildren, Christi Ann Shaffer of Morgantown, W.Va.; and Jacob Ray Shaffer and wife Laura of Fairmont, W.Va.; 3 great grandchildren: Rebekah Shaffer, Jacob Shaffer, Jr., and Alexander Coen; 3 sisters: Lois Braid and husband James of Ashtabula, Ohio; Wanida Rugg of Sussex, N.J.; and Dorothy Jean Brake and husband Frank of Somerset, Pa.; brother-in-law,Charles Weimer and wife JoAnn, and sister-in-law, Mardail Baldwin and husband Oliver, all of Somerset, Pa.; sister-in-law, Wanda Hostetler and husband William of Mattie, Pa., and sister-in-law, Geraldine Ansell of Somerset, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, Pa., today (Friday), from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, April 2, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The Funeral Ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel, with Senior Pastor Earl Casey Shorr, and Associate Pastor George Boyle Officiating.

Entombment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery Chapel of Memories Mauso -leum, Uniontown, Pa..
