Thomas J. Oziemblowsky Sr., 61 years, of Brownsville, Pennsylvania passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 5, 2011.

Thomas was born Thursday, N o v e m b e r 10, 1949 i n U n i o n t o w n, Pennsylvania the son of E l i z a b e t h J. (Mayher) Oziemblowsky of McClellandtown, Pennsylvania who survives and the now late Joseph T. Oziemblowsky Sr.

Mr. Oziemblowsky was a 1968 graduate of the now former German Township High School.

He received his Bachelors Degree in Mining Engineering from Penn State University.

For a total of 35 years he worked in the mining industry as an underground miner for United States Steel’s Robena Mine, was an Assistant Mine S u p e r i n t e n d e n t for Consolidation Coal at their D i l w o r t h Mine, M i n e Superintendent for B e t h Energy’s Mine 51 in Ellsworth, and currently was a Mining Engineer for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Thomas was mechanically gifted.

He dedicated his life to his Family, whom he loved dearly. He will be greatly missed by all those he is leaving behind.

On August 3, 1989 Thomas married his loving wife, Darla J. Thomas Oziemblowsky, who survives.

Also surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are one daughter, Andrea Gearhart (David) of B e t h e l Park, Pennsylvania; o n e s o n, Thomas J. Oziemblowsky Jr. (Dilini) of Washington, D.C.; his four grandchildren: Noah, Sarah and Abram Gearhart and Kian Oziemblowsky; two b r o t h e r s: J o s e p h Oziemblowsky Jr. of Jefferson, Pennsylvania and Richard Oziemblowsky of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; also several nieces and nephews.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Sr.

Relatives and Friends will be received today, April 7, 2011 from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, PA 15313 (724.632.5454).

At the request of the Family, F u n e r a l S e r v i c e s and interment will be private.

Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pennsylvania.
