Joann W. ‘Nanny’ Kovall Watson
Joann W. ‘Nanny’ Kovall Watson, age 80 of LaBelle, Pa., went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2011 surrounded and comforted by her family after a short illness.
She was born November 2, 1930 in Johnstown, Pa. to the late James L. and Cora H. West.
Joann’s greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who made her so proud and gave her such joy
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother F. James West, husband Lawrence V. Watson, son David L. Kovall, stepson Baron L. Watson and long time companion Charlie Patch.
She is survived by sister Lila Jean West of Uniontown, Pa.; children: Theodore J. Kovall, Jr., (Phyllis) of Connellsville, Pa., Herbert Watson (Kay) of Bowling Green, Ky., Sally J. Newcomer, Brownsville, Pa., Bryan W. Kovall of Morgantown, W.Va. and James W. Watson (Cindy) of Hunker, Pa., Nannette Watson Grishkin (Brian) of Fort Meyers, Fla. and special friends Gloria Sloan, LaBelle, Pa. and Cathy L. Thomas, Brownsville.
She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the CALVIN UNITED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 307 Spring Street, Brownsville, Pa. on Sunday, April 10 from 2 to 3 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be at 3 p.m. with Rev. Aleda Menchyk officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Calvin UPC, Brownsville, Pa., where she was a member and elder.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME, Republic, Pa.
