Rices Landing woman charged with assault on child

A Rices Landing woman is behind bars after police allege she assaulted her 11-year-old nephew during a family dispute at her residence in Jefferson Township, Greene County.

?State police said Jessica Marie Flynn, 26, was charged before Magisterial District Judge Lee Watson with simple assault, harassment and public drunkenness following the altercation.

According to Trooper John R. Simko, the charges were filed against Flynn following the altercation at her home at 104 Maple St. around 10?p.m. Tuesday.

Police said Flynn punched her nephew in the face, back and arm during the dispute.

The extent of the child’s injuries were not divulged.

It was not clear what sparked the fight.

Flynn was placed in the Fayette County Prison on $2,500 straight cash bond following her arraignment.

A preliminary hearing for Flynn will be held before Watson at 10?a.m. April 28.
