Martha Ann Skowronek Kupets
Martha Ann (Skowronek) Kupets, R.N., 79, of Republic, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on Holy Thursday, April 21, 2011 from the home of her daughter in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania surrounded by Family.
She was born on Tuesday, December 15, 1931 daughter of Stanley Skowronek and Helen (Kurka) Skowronek in Grindstone, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, John A. Kupets; and by a granddaughter, Constance Marie Kelly.
She was a very devoted and loving mother to her eight children: John ‘Dan’ Kupets (Joyce) o f U n i o n t o w n, Pennsylvania, Mark (Patti) Kupets of Athens, Georgia, Rosemary Hogan (James) of Merrittstown, Pennsylvania, Janine Holbrook (John) of Alexandria, Virginia, Martha West (John) of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, Rita Kelly (Brent) o f D a m a s c u s, Maryland, T r u d y Bennett (M i c h a e l) of Danville, Pennsylvania, Kristen Luna (Alex) of McLean, Virginia.
She was a very caring and generous Grandma to 24 grandchildren: John ‘Casey’, Katie and Kara (Dan); Mark Justin, Ashley, Courtney and Christopher (Mark); Jenna, James, Joshua (Rosemary); John Wesley (Janine); Johnathan, Mary, Martha Claire (Martha); Matthew, Lindsey, Peter, Sarah (Rita); Brittany and Zeke (Trudy); Alessandro, Kylan, Marissa and Keira (Kristen); and one great granddaughter, Baylie West.
Martha was the sister of Eugene Skowronek (Betty) of Uniontown, Pennsylvania and Robert Skowronek (Alberta) of Connellsville, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that she loved dearly.
She was a 1952 graduate of the Saint Francis School of Nursing. During her forty-three year nursing career, she was a Nurse at the now former Brownsville General Hospital, Director of Nurses at Golden Age Nursing Home, and Albert Gallatin Home Health nurse.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Republic, Pennsylvania and a member of The Ladies of Holy Rosary.
Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME, 19 Legion Street, Republic, Pennsylvania today (Easter Sunday) from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Republic, with the Reverend Father James Clark as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Connellsville, Pennsylvania.
Memorials in Martha’s name may be made to The Ladies of Holy Rosary Church.
The Ladies of Holy Rosary Church will pray the Rosary in the Funeral Home on Monday at 7 p.m.
