U.S. Rep. John Boehner, the House Speaker, was most responsible for the U.S. government averting a shutdown, according to a majority of those taking part in a poll on heraldstandard.com.

According to the poll, 506 respondents said Boehner was most responsible. Another 341 said President Barack Obama was most responsible while 63 said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was most responsible. Another 300 said none of the above was responsible.

?The question this week is: Do you think President Barack Obama was born in the United States? Website viewers will have until noon on Friday to take part in the poll.

The results will be printed in this column next Monday.
