Washington County NAACP speaker named
A. Michael Pratt of Pepper Hamilton LLP, and vice chairman of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, will be the featured speaker at the 51st annual Human Rights Award Banquet of the Washington County Branch of the NAACP. The banquet will be held May 6 at the DoubleTree Meadow Lands, in Washington.
Pratt is partner in the Philadelphia and Harrisburg offices of Pepper Hamilton, concentrating his practice in complex commercial, product liability and toxic tort litigation. In 2010, he became the first African-American attorney to be elected to the firm’s executive committee.
Pratt led the 13,000-member Philadelphia Bar Association as chancellor in 2008, and also is a past president of the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia. Pratt is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Washington & Jefferson College. He is a former vice president of the Washington NAACP chapter and founder of its first Youth Chapter while attending W&J.
