Jacquelyn Ruth Minor

Mother Jacquelyn Ruth Minor, 88, of Uniontown went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born July 26, 1923 in Uniontown, Pa., the daughter of the late Charles Henry and Clara Belle Gooch-Boone.

Mother Minor has been a faithful member of New Beginning Church for fifteen years. Before coming to NBC, she was a faithful member of the Church of God in Christ, where she gave her life to God at the age of 21 and was baptized in 1944. She was featured on radio station WMBS delivering a Word and praying for the sick. The New Beginning Women looked up to her for wisdom and guidance and she didn’t mind letting them know when they were not lining up according to the Word of God. She was a teacher as well as a spiritual advisor. Her favorite scriptures in the Bible were Psalm 91:2 and Proverbs 23:12. She highlights Psalm 91:2; ‘I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’ She said to be faithful to God and trust Him and to stay committed. Mother Minor has always been active in the church and still remained so until her death.

Mother Minor was the faithful and devoted wife of Randy Minor for 57 years until he went home to be with the Lord. When Mother was ask this question; ‘What is the recipe to a successful and fruitful marriage?’ She replied, ‘To respect one another, learn to listen to each other and remember to communicate.’

She was a School Crossing Guard in the City of Uniontown.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Randolph Minor; one son, Darrell Wayne Minor and two brothers: Ferdinand Leon Boone and Jack Boone.

She leaves to mourn her passing: one son, Wilfred R. Minor of Denver, CO; a daughter, Karen J. Robinson and husband Charles of League City, TX; one granddaughter, Kelly A. Minor of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Charles Boone of Uniontown, Pa; sister-in-law, Elder Dorothy Boone; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and church family.

Friends and family will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa. on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 from 10 am to 12 p.m. the Hour of Service with Bishop Leonard A. Tucker officiating.

Interment follows in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
