Lemont Furnace man charged in alleged threat

A Lemont Furnace man is facing a single charge for disorderly conduct after police allege he alluded to a threat of gun violence at the Social Security Administration building and also the Fayette County Public Assistance office, both in Uniontown, this morning.

Uniontown police Officer John Kauer said Stephen Yuhaniak was charged by Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros with disorderly conduct following the incident.

Kauer said the incident occurred when Yuhaniak alluded to bringing a gun into the Social Security office in Uniontown while meeting with representatives at the office. He also told employees at the Social Security office that he could take a gun to the public assistance office too, Kauer said.
