Motorcyclist dies from injuries suffered in Redstone crash

A Redstone Township man who wrecked his motorcycle near his home Friday afternoon has died.

Officials said David S. “Feaz” Winters, 42, died at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., Saturday night from injuries he suffered in the crash.

Police said the crash occurred at 3:39 p.m. while Winters was traveling east on Route 40 in Redstone Township. Police said the motorcycle overturned, crossed the road and struck a stone culvert.

The crash occurred in front of Winters’ home on Route 40, just west of Volek Avenue.

The motorcycle sustained significant damage.

Winters was flown by medical helicopter to Ruby Memorial following the crash.

He was not wearing a helmet, police said.

The accident forced emergency crews to close a section of Route 40 for two hours while the state police investigated the crash.

Emergency personnel from Brownsville Ambulance Service, Fayette EMS and Uniontown Firemen’s Ambulance responded to the crash.

Skirpan Funeral Home in Brownsville is handling funeral arrangements.
