Collection for US troops set for Pechins

By Heraldstandard.Com 1 min read

Items for troops serving overseas will be collected at the Pechins grocery store, located on Route 119 at Laurel Mall, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Volunteers are also needed to help collect donations.

The War and Veterans Inc. committee is sponsoring the collection drive, with assistance from both Albert Gallatin and Laurel Highlands ROTC programs.

All organizations will be onsite both days.

Toiletries, easy-to-prepare food items and stationery are always needed.

In addition, people may instead donate money to purchase needed items and help pay postage to send the care packages overseas.

People who have relatives or friends in the military can send their names and APO and FPO addresses while overseas to have their loved ones added to the War and Veterans Inc. care package list.

Names and addresses of members of the military currently serving overseas, and donations for care packages, can be mailed to 322 Dixon Blvd., Uniontown, Pa., 15401.

Checks should be made payable to “War and Veterans.”
