Robert A. ‘Bob’ Moody
Robert A. ‘Bob’ Moody, 66, of Greensboro (Cabbage Flats), Pa., and formerly of the Point Marion, Pa. area, was taken to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 4, 2011, at his home surrounded and comforted by his family.
He was a loving and caring husband, father and friend. Born August 17, 1944 in Bowood, Pa., he was the son of Charles Ray and Anna (Mrazek) Moody.
He was a 1963 graduate of Albert Gallatin Senior High School, where he met his high school sweetheart, Donna K. Krause, and married his soulmate on October 24, 1964.
Bob and Donna had four wonderful children: Alan and wife Marcie of Smithfield, Pa., Michael and wife Kim of Point Marion, Dawn and husband Robin Thomas of Smithfield, and Brian and wife Jessica of Uniontown, Pa., all of whom took their job seriously. His children blessed the family, giving them eleven grandchildren: Ryan, Joshua, Garrett, Natalie, Blake, Hunter, Braeden, Dylan, Nathaniel, Donna Jean, and Lucas; and one great-grandson, Caleb.
He was a coal miner, having worked at Robena and Duquesne Light mines for over 23 years.
Bob’s wish is to make certain that all his family and friends know that ‘we are responsible for our own salvation, and most importantly to be ready for the next life with Christ.’
Deceased are all his brothers and sisters, Andrew Trader, Charles Moody, Marcella Parker, Veronica Spell, Beatty Jean Fiano, Eva Zembar, Norma Jean Silva, John Moody, Annette (Moody) Anthony, and Richard Moody and his best friend, Clyde Conaway.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion on Sunday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m., and Monday in the Point Marion Apostolic Church from 10 – 11:00 a.m., the hour of service, with Rev. David Lee Corob and Robert Barton officiating.
Interment follows in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield.
