State police in Belle Vernon announce sobriety checkpoint

1 min read

State police in Belle Vernon will conduct at least one sobriety checkpoint in the region during August.

The announcement by troopers in Belle Vernon comes one day after a similar announcement by state police in Uniontown.

Police said the checkpoint is just another way state police are committed to keeping area roads safe for motorists.

Troopers will use the checkpoints to detect and arrest individuals who are impaired by either alcohol or drugs while operating vehicles.

The exact dates, times and locations for the checkpoints were not revealed by police.
