Uniontown police probe burglary
Uniontown police said they are investigating after someone broke into a home Monday.
Officer Jason Fidazzo said the burglary occurred at the 220 Evans St. home of Keno Saavedra.
According to Fidazzo, Saavedra returned to his residence shortly after 7 p.m. and found it ransacked. Saavedra told police that burglars made off with two laptop computers, several pairs of tennis shoes, a his wedding band and cash, Fidazzo said.
Fidazzo noted that the computers and ring alone were worth nearly $5,000.
Fidazzo said that it also appeared that the suspects tried to remove a flat-screen television from the wall in Saavedra’s bedroom without success.
Fidazzo said it was not clear how the suspects gained entry into the home.
He said that the state police Records and Identification Unit was contacted to process the home for forensic evidence.
The burglary remains under investigation by Uniontown police.
Anyone with information regarding the break-in is asked to call police at 724-430-2929.
