Milton Harlan Raffle
Milton Harlan Raffle, 78, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. He was the victim of a street crime in a Phoenix, Arizona park near his home.
Harlan was born and raised on Pine Knob in Hopwood, Pennsylvania to p a r e n t s, Blanche (Victor) Raffle and Walter Raffle Sr.
He had three brothers, Walter and Gary both of Hopwood, and Tom of Ruffsdale, Pennsylvania.
When his high school sweetheart, Patricia Gail McMillen, and her family moved from Hopwood to Arizona, Harlan followed them. Harlan and Gail would have been married 60 years this December. They made their home in Phoenix where they raised four sons: D a n e, L e e (wife J e s s i c a), B e n and Beau; and enthusiastically welcomed four grandchildren: Dane Anthony, Victoria, Nellie and Michael.
Harlan was retired from both Mountain Bell/AT&T and APS.
He enjoyed running, walking and hiking through the mountains and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
He was passionate about his family, a beloved friend to his brothers in Pennsylvania, and a blessing to the many people he befriended and helped throughout his life.
Harlan lived his life with d e v o t i o n, p u r p o s e, appreciation and love. He will be dearly missed!
Having served in the Korean War, he was laid to rest at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona on Friday, August 5, 2011.
