WHARTON TWP. — A Fayette County man already in trouble with the law is in trouble again after he allegedly assaulted an off-duty state trooper who broke up a fight at a Farmington bar.

State police Cpl. Juan J. Curry said the altercation occurred during the early morning hours Sunday at the National Pike Bar.

Curry said Justin J. Rodeheaver, 22, of Farmington was involved in a fight at the bar and became combative when an off-duty trooper, who was at the bar and witnessed the altercation, intervened in the fight.

Curry said the trooper identified himself and that Rodeheaver said, “I don’t give a (expletive) who you are.” Rodeheaver then grabbed a handful of gravel and threw it in the trooper’s face, Curry said.

The trooper was forced to subdue Rodeheaver until other state troopers arrived on scene and suffered an injury in the process, Curry said.

Rodeheaver was charged with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and harassment as a result of the altercation at National Pike Bar.

Curry said Rodeheaver was already wanted by police on an outstanding warrant for simple assault.
