Maria D. ‘Mary’ Savini Nuccetelli
Maria D. ‘Mary’ Savini Nuccetelli, age 87, of Republic, Pa., passed away, Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at her home with her family at her side.
She was born July 4, 1924 in Republic, a daughter of the late Amedio Savini, Sr. and Agnes Antonini Savini.
Mary was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Republic, for many years she operated a grocery store in Republic with her husband Mike. After they gave up the store, she worked for Rossi’s Clothing Store in Republic. When the clothing store closed, Mary and Mike invested in something they talked about all their life. They purchased Mario’s Bar and Grill, which they ran successfully for eleven years.
Mary was a dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She loved her family, but above all, she loved God. Mary also had a special devotion to St. Jude, (Patron Saint of lost causes). She devoted many hours of her time to Holly Rosary Church, where she enjoyed helping make pierogies, helping at the many spaghetti dinners and working at the annual Street Fair. Mary also would always say ‘I have the best neighbors and friends that anyone could have’. She was also a friend to everyone she met, helping out anyone in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mario ‘Mike’ Nuccetelli, two brothers, Amedio Savini, Jr. and Anthony Savini, a sister, Caroline Savini Marini, brother-in-law, Gino Marini and a grandson, Antonio Nuccetelli.
Surviving are her children: Jim Nuccetelli and wife, Gloria and Greg Nuccetelli and wife, Twila of Uniontown; grandchildren: Jeanine Woods and husband, Greg, Danielle Lancaster and husband, Matt, Tosha Henk and husband, Michael, Lyndse Costabile, Alexandra Nuccetelli and Travis Costabile; three great-grand-children: Donata Lancaster, Brenden and Gianna Woods, brothers: Louis Savini and wife, Kay of Brownsville and Philip Savini and wife, Louise of Uniontown; sisters-in-law: Jackie Savini of Thompson 1 and Nellie Nuccetelli of Grindstone; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME, 19 Legion St., Republic, Pa. on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, August 13, 2011 until 9:30 a.m., when a Prayer Service will be held. A Funeral Mass follows at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church with Rev. Father James Clark as Celebrant.
Interment will be held in LaFayette Memorial Park.
