Driving down the road on my way to Uniontown, I used to find at least 20 yard sales along the way. Antiques, collectables and household items sat out on the grass lined up in a row. Summer and spring in Fayette County was my favorite time of year.

Being a yard sale fanatic I knew that was the hot spot of yard sales, ranging from the intersection of Carmichaels and Masontown all the way to Perryopolis was the place to go if you wanted to find an item you have been searching for.

But here lately I have drove down that stretch and haven’t see a single yard sale. I wondered why that is, since as long as I can remember route 21 was the best place in the whole area to find a yard sale. Then it dawned on me about Facebook.

Facebook has revolutionized the whole social media and the way people communicate with each other. The new Facebook webpage Morgantown WV Online Yard Sale has taken Facebook by storm, with a total of 2363 followers it makes buying and selling unwanted items a lot easier than the traditional yard sale.

Created by Robin Methany Liggett and Stacey Bohon, the site makes it very simple to post items, in the traditional Facebook add a photo format to a page like you usually do if you want to add a photo as a comment. You attach your photograph, write a description of the item, put the price you want for it and finally post the finished listing.

The listing is free of charge to post, but there are certain guidelines to adhere too. Most of all after you post an item and it sells you are required to delete your post off of the Facebook page or comment under it that it has been sold.

The other guideline is to treat each other with respect on the page, since there can be a number of disputes that can arise from buying and selling items, it is best to work it out in a courteous way. And of course you have to have a Facebook page.

If you are interested in being a member of this group all the guidelines must be followed or they can delete you from it. And of course when you first sign up for this group the administrator has to approve you first before you can post an item. And after they approve it you are free to post as many as you want. You are also allowed to add members to the group if you would like to.

This page is making a new way to yard sale, or they have taking the yard out of the yard sale so to speak. A lot of people can benefit from it, and it definitely takes out the work of packing and unpacking yard sale items. Along with it gives you a large access to over 1000 potential buyers.

But as for me I cannot say that I will stop going to traditional yard sales in my area or in Fayette County because sometimes But as for me I cannot say that I will stop going to traditional yard sales in my area or in Fayette County because sometimes never know what will catch your eye!
