Fayette County tax sale on tap for next month
A few hundred properties throughout Fayette County will probably be up for grabs at next month’s tax claim bureau sale.
Sarah E. Minnick, director of the Fayette County Tax Claim Bureau, said she is anticipating that this year’s sale will include between 300 and 350 properties, which is similar to the number offered during each of the last few years.
When Minnick began the process of compiling the list of properties for the sale, which will occur on Sept. 26, the list was at about 5,000.
For this years sale, the properties of anyone who hasn’t paid taxes for the years of 2009 and prior by Sept. 23 will be on the auction block.
