William Ernest ‘Shaf’ Shaffer
William Ernest ‘Shaf’ Shaffer age 79 of Hiller, Pa. died Thursday, August 11, 2011.
He was born on January 28, 1932 in Brownsville, Pa., Son of the late Ernest C. and Mary Ellen (Richards) Shaffer.
‘Shaf’ was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Shenandoah, Member of the American Legion Frederick-town Post 391, AMVETS Post 103 Hopwood, Hiller Fire Hall and the Brownsville Eagles.
He is survived by his wife: Alice C. (Petrick Shaffer); 3 Sons: Steven M. Sadvary and friend Sal, Nicolas Sadvary and fiancée Melissa Thompson both of Pittsburgh, Pa. and William A. Sadvary wife Carla of Carlisle, Pa.; 2 Grandsons: Max A. Sadvary and Eli A. Sadvary; Sister Donna Jones and husband Raymond, Pittsburgh, Pa.; several Nieces, Nephews and Many Friends.
He was predeceased by a brother Robert C. Shaffer.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME 135 Park St. Brownsville, Pa. today from 2 – 9 p.m. Where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Alexander Jalsoofficiating.
Interment Lafayette Memorial Park with full military rites accorded by American Legion Post 391.
